Files and entered text
Subtitle text, selected video/audio files, timing calculations and PDF/video exports are processed in your browser. SubtitlePad does not upload their contents to a project server. The app does not place captions or filenames in page addresses. Avoid putting private information in URLs or support emails.
Storage on this device
Optional project saving uses IndexedDB for subtitle text, names, timing and settings. Media files are excluded. Local storage remembers the autosave choice, last project and any caption-style presets you save; browser caches can retain the application and downloaded speech model. Autosave starts off unless you previously enabled it. Use Project → Local projects to manage saved work. Export a backup before deleting projects or clearing this site's browser data; browser storage is not a guaranteed backup.
Hosting and network requests
Cloudflare serves subtitlepad.com and its assets. Hosting and security operations may process IP addresses, request URLs, browser/network information and timestamps. We have not set a custom retention period for those provider records. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Optional speech transcription downloads a pinned Whisper model from Hugging Face only when you request it. That provider receives the model-file request and connection information, not your audio or transcript. Inference runs locally. See Hugging Face's privacy policy. Fonts, demo video and the video-encoding runtime are served from this site. Following an external source link takes you to that site's policies.
Cookies, advertising and analytics
The application currently sets no advertising or analytics cookies and loads no external advertising or analytics scripts. Hosting/security infrastructure may use essential mechanisms when necessary. Google publisher ownership verification is present; verification alone does not activate ad serving.
If advertising is enabled later, public information pages may display clearly labeled Google ads. The privacy notice will be updated and the required consent/choice controls configured before activation. Google and other advertising vendors may then use cookies or similar identifiers to serve or measure ads, including personalized ads where permitted and consented to. Editing workspaces, uploads, exports and legal pages are excluded from ad placements. No advertising data is sent by the current disabled integration.

Email kout@me.com for SubtitlePad privacy questions. Sending email shares your address and message with the support mailbox and mail providers. Send only what is needed to describe the issue. We cannot retrieve browser-only projects from our servers. You can stop using optional features and clear this site's stored data through your browser.
